I agree that it is really important to number the carbons as it helps to keep track of them and make sure you aren't losing or gaining any you don't mean to! The arrows show the movement of electrons/double bonds really clearly and I liked how you explain drawing the six-membered ring first and then modify it so that is a new way I could think about approaching problems like these.
